Congratulations to those who made it safely through the new year. I hope you guys didn’t spend too much time throwing up into the toilet bowl.
It’s only been a week since we last released anything. Feels like a whole year. Immediately after releasing the final episode of Myself; Yourself, I returned to the world of Vana’diel in Final Fantasy XI (yes, the online one) after a 3 year absence. I’ve only been playing a week, but it already feels like I’m wasting my life away. Luckily, I came to my senses and took a look at what’s in store this season.
Upon watching the H2O raw, the opening scene immediately piqued my interest and we decided to pick it up as a project on the spot. These visual novel adaptaions tend to have really good stories too. So, “What is it about?”, you may ask. Check out the H2O project page for a short synopsis. The voice actress for the main character, a blind boy named Takuma, is the same voice actress who did Nanaka in Myself; Yourself. Also, H2O is part of the Anime Spirits series, following previous shows like Kaze no Stigma and Ninomiya.
It looks like this is the first English fansub release for the new season too. As usual, we’re doing it in a very minimalistic fashion. No fancy karaoke and typesetting and such. It airs on a Friday I believe, so expect a release every week on Saturday or Sunday depending on your timezone.
Anyway, download it. Watch it. It looks to be a really good show.

Correction: Oh, my bad. @4:40 Takuma says “The warmth of the Sun.” and not East. I didn’t think of it until a moment ago when I realised how stupid the sentence sounded. It was just that ‘hizashi’ and ‘higashi’ sounded really close and I wasn’t thinking. This will be correct in the mkv version.

star it seems like they groups that are doing dc II is going to wait when they are near the second season which is coming in april so they will be done by then. Can i have the ETA for the H2O h264 encodes..yesterday i seen the HD raws and was amazed by the art quality of it. must fully this anime in HD.

as for the fan-subbing style… i think simple works really well. kinda helps you focus on the anime more. so, great job!

I was wondering what you’re 2nd series for this year will be? True Tears seems to have 4 groups calling dibs on it already, but I know even with that, you guys can still beat them release-wise, hands down. I wonder if you’ve also seen Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de? I know it has a friggin a$$ long title, but it’s also adult visual novel based, romance, maid, comedy, & slice of life. It’s not as serious as True Tears, but so far only 1 fansub group claimed it. Haven’t seen it myself so I can’t vouch as to how good it is (I wouldn’t completely understand it anyway, at my level), but if you can check it out & see if it’s a viable option? Thanks.
BTW, what’s wrong with the comments section? I was able to post 1 comment before, but had to switch to others to check & see if it’ll post again, though so far unsuccessful. Is there a 1 comment/episode/series limit or something?

I’ve watched True Tears already, and I really like it. It’s aired with that ‘HV’ logo too, so, the graphics are gorgeous. However, like you said, too many groups have called dibs on it already. I’ve had multiple requests to translate or translate check it though. But, I’ve turned them all down. Also, I guess it’s fansub politics that will prevent me from doing it and lack of staff in certain key positions.
I’ve watched kimiaru as well (that’s the shortform btw). It’s funny, and the jokes are really corny. It’s an all out comedy, but it doing a show like that doesn’t appeal to me much though.
And, no idea about the comments. Must be spam auto-protection or something.
