The episode everyone has been waiting for. It wasn’t a very dramatic ending, but I expected that much. The series had plenty of cliffhangers, but the drama level was quite moderate. However, it’s still definitely one of the better anime to have come out. It was artistically great, and the pacing of the story was very good. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we have.

I think I still enjoyed Clannad more. If Noe won… who knows. Still, very well done and I have just a few questions:

    1. Who is that boy in Shin’s house? Man servant, slave, what?
    2. What is it with siscons in Japan?
    3. Can’t anyone there run without falling?

I would’ve liked the ending to be clearer. Sure, they resolved a couple things pretty clearly, but others they hinted at resolution, which is a nice literary technique, but in most anime it’s generally much less definitive than I would like. I’ll believe what I want to happen happened, as the hints imply, forget about the things I don’t care about, and hope there’s never a season two. Overall True Tears was really good, the ending just wasn’t quite what I was looking for.

Thanks for the blog m33w, and another great episode w00f.

Well, I enjoyed T.T but I don’t like the ending cause its a bit too un-clear. Shin hasn’t said directly that he loves Hiromi(in front of her)I don’t like this fact. Another point is that Hiromi’s disappearing coukld be a bit more dramatic but I suppose this fits the style of TT completely cause there is not much drama furthermore there is drama on the “normallife” level^^. well and for Noe: I hope she’ll find something she loves and forget about that Shin! Another point is that Ai-chan played quite a little role during the series and they could have done more for her. She hasn’t the chance to beginn with!!!-.-‘

Thanks m.3.3.w for blogging this great series and thanks to w.0.0.f for subbing this series whether this series was licenced.

    @Haruhi-chan: I totally agree.

@w.0.0.f: Thank you so much, for subbing the series. But I didn’t exactly like your statement at the end which sounded like taking sides. Subtle as it was, it was completely unnecessary. I think all of the Charas were wonderful, alas it was going for the default ending from midpoint on. But if it wasn’t for Noe there would have been zero story to tell to begin with.

Thank you all so much for bringing this wonderful series to the western world {I meach thx to both, m.3.3.w and w.0.0.f !)

This was by far the most enjoyable series of the winter season and it got its memory engraved in my mind as one of the best anime I’ve ever seen. Thinking about KGNE, this one really takes over that other icon’s trail as to lead this form of unrivaled, reality-affectionate story-telling.

I’d say that – without a doubt – I prefer this series a whole lot more over that second season of KGNE (the original series of that one was very goog, though). If I could give out one advice to the makers of this great show, now this would be it: “Please don’t do an alternate ending to this one”

I just watched that second out of three “Haruka Route”(my thanks go out to m.3.3.w for subbing that, as well) OVAs and it turned as a major disappointment. That one totally demolished the authenticity of the original cast of characters. I hope history won’t repeat itself with this show – which was not only great to watch but had, to my understanding, one of the most beautiful non-cliché – driven stories ever!

Have a great time preparing for next season

Why did Shin say when he sees Noe his heart wavers and why was he crying I don’t get it why he didn’t he say he loved Hiromi in front of her.

The ending happened but to me it seemed like Shin wasn’t sure about his true feelings in the end.

  26. Lost-Wisdom

The ending is pretty much a happy ending since the 3 main girls that played in this anime didn’t get their heart broken.

Hiromi got to go with Shin.
Noe went to forget about Shin and you see her with friends.
Aiko is back with Shins friend again, forgetting Shin also.

Bleh, I don’t like it. I think Shin would go with Noe, I was sure of it….

I would’ve said good work m33w/w00f if it wasn’t for the Hiromi-biased remark in the end of the main encode and the even more offensive and retarded remark in [m.3.0.w] True Tears 13 Ending Scene.avi. Grow up will you?

@ 25 re-watch the episode he told noe that he loved hiromi.

oh and to all the noefags, re-watch the series, in the begining of the series shin proclaims that he wants to wipe the tears from hiromi’s face, you should have known which girl would win already.

He never liked Noe in that way, Noe was pushed on him by Jun, episode 5 if I remember correctly. Noe is like the ugly friend who helps you out when you and your girlfriend are having an argument.

“Noefag”? Would a fag really be rooting for Noe? No he’d probably root for Miyokichi, stupid Hirotards.

Then why doesn’t w.0.0.f. say so? It’s not an English word.

And at 9:30 why does Hiromi say “I’m…” instead of “I am…” Contracting I am like that doesn’t make any sense. I never hear any one use “I’m” without immediately placing another word right after it. When ever you end a sentence with “I am” you don’t contract it.

  56. xess
    12:19 am on March 31st, 2008

reflectia isn’t a real word. just use you imagination

It’s “I’m…” because it’s not a complete sentence. “I am…” might make it sound like she is going out. She isn’t. The Japanese sentence is incomplete, so is the translation. And never once hearing someone say “I’m”, then pausing, is extremely unusual to say the least.

Actually, why am I defending w00f’s grammar? Their grammar sucks. They can’t speak a lick of English to save their lives.

  57. osiris

    hi again,

I just wanted to give the following advice to all the ppl who wanted to see a pairing of Noe and Shin at the end:

please just rewatch the whole thing.

To me it was kind of my secret “whish” to see Shin to finally catch “fire” for Hiromi – and YEAH! he finally did , thank you very much! I cannot believe all of you bashing Hiromi for being a little bit on the shy-jealous side opposed to the very lively but heart-broken and in some way self-consious Noe. Don’t get me wrong on this one: Noe was a great character adding so much to a great story – but hell: even I would have chosen Hiromi if I had the choice.

Overall the one letdown really was that incestive relationship that No.7 had on his mind, all along. It felt a little out of the blue and “constructed” to a certain degree – befitting the rest of the outcome, though.

Have fun rewatching this great show – it’s well worth it

Shin loves Hiromi since the beginning of the anime. But Noe is the one that moves Shin to complete his picture book.

In the end, Shin chose Love over Inspiration. Too bad Shin didn’t grab a bite when Hiromi goes aggressive and says, “Do It”. That makes a “Nice Bamboo” ending ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyways, who’s the young boy that followed Jun in the ending? A relative? His son?

Ok I was just about to say that it sounds like she wasn’t planning on finishing that sentence and that she already had made her point. But now that I think about it “Watashi wa…” doesn’t make any sense to me in this context. I guess I was just reading the subtitles wrong, I didn’t take the “…” to mean that she wasn’t going to finish her sentence. I’ve heard plenty of people end what they were saying with “I’m” because they were interrupted, got lost in thought, etc. I just haven’t ever heard any one put “I’m” at the end of a complete thought. And that’s precisely what I thought was happening, I thought that Hiromi was ending a complete answer an thus the use of “I’m” was incorrect. But now I know that since she wasn’t completing her thought the “I’m…” in the subtitles does make sense.

Great series until the last episode

Man I hated Hiromi all the way through the series – without doubt the lamest, most self centred, bitter, annoyingly plain character in the universe. Hope they both get hit by a bus,

There was only one moment in the whole series where I almost thought “Oh she’s not too – o wait no she’s a selfish whore” I think that was just before she got Noes brother to crash his bike.

That was one of the most overt signs of just how worthless she was – he’s lost his bike, gotta pay for it, gotta still get on with life and she’s all “oo the fires pretty”

The next bit that really showed how lame and self obsessed she was was at the dance where instead of watching Shin she glared at Noe (who was of course completely focused on Shin.) There are more examples but I’d have to rewatch it and I can’t be bothered.

Other then the fact that Hiromi should burn in fire, and Shin too. This series was so pretty and the other two girls (Ai and Noe) were wonderful, his best friend was a cool guy too.

Of course the fix is simple – get the game and get a good end ^^

O and epic job subbing the series ^_^
