I can’t believe how much they cut out compared to the manga. The sports day was so much better in the manga this just seems rushed, it’s still good regardless but if they keep rushing like this they are going to be making lots of anime only content. so far the only thing better than the manga is the art style. Kotoko looks much cuter and Naoki actually looks like a human.

Well, the manga does span 23 volumes. The sports day was pretty short too in the manga. I guess that’s why they had to pad it with 3 minutes of filler. Either way, stuff has to fit into 20 minute episodes in anime, so it’s inevitable that stuff has to be removed, added, and edited to fit the time slot and the total number of episodes.
But, either way, I thought that the itakiss anime turned out much better than expected. The manga did feel a little dragged and slow moving. But, the pacing for the anime does feel a bit fast.

@Minase: actually they skipped some content to get to the sports day story arc right? And apparently they are showing the skipped content in 2 eps after this current one. So strange, what’s the point of jumbling it around?
But anyhoo, quite a faithful adaptation I suppose. Most enjoyable spring series for me (biased POV, since I am a great fan of the manga), but they did cut out quite a lot of the humour…but it’s pretty understandable why.
