    How hard could it be to find someone that can speak decent English?

    It isn’t worth the trouble of finding such a speaker when your target audience largely can’t tell the difference or doesn’t care.

    Here’s an example: in HBO’s John Adams mini-series there’s a part where Benjamin Franklin speaks French, saying “Je veux parler avec mon ami.” The way the actor says it is the most grating, god-awful American French I have heard in years. It’s clear that the actor speaks no French and was coached (poorly) on how to say the line. Now let’s say somebody asked the exact same question you just did: “is it that hard for HBO to find someone who can actually speak French?” No, of course not! But it’s just not worth it. Yes, the trouble is small, but even small trouble is still trouble. Which makes it worse than zero trouble. HBO’s target audience was an American public who either knew no French or could forgive the actor’s shitty French. So the choice was clear: have the actor say the line (poorly) rather than bring in a French guy, have him say it, and ask the editing team to splice it in in post-production.

    Same exact situation here, only now it’s Japanese otaku, a seiyuu, and English.

    Thanks as always for the subs!

    The English speaking cracked me up, though. They…sounded…like…robots… And it took a few times to figure out that the girl said “caterpillar.” Lol

    Same seiyuu?

    Anyway, English is my 4th language and I had no trouble understanding what they were saying.

    Thanks for Ita12. It was really a good episode but GODDAMN CLIFFHANGER (again)!

    @Saoen:
    I only stated something that seemed obvious to me, most ppl check sites like tokyotosho rather than homepages. Please do not feel underappreciated, your efforts and everyone in this group are really greatly appreciated by me and many others. Peace.
