We realize that this limits viewing capabilities for those using MPlayer, VLC, or any other player that doesn’t use Haali’s splitter, and we apologize for this inconvenience. However, we feel that this is the best way to give the show the proper bitrate that it needs.
Also, if it’s true that Tokyo MX is starting to censor the episodes, we might drop this show. Everyone that is working on the show hates it, and if there’s no ecchi, it removes all purpose for doing this. Just be warned. We’re hoping that episode 03 is just an isolated incident. Otherwise we might just wait for DVD releases.

xess note: the episode ones are incorrectly labelled. They should be v2s but I don’t know why nobody labelled it as such. Everything is exactly the same except for some encode fix in the karaoke for the xvid and the removal of the ED in ep 01 for the mkv version. I really don’t understand what the other staff’s motives are by attempting to sneak a second version without actually labelling it as such and creating unnecessary confusion.

It’s true, chapter 3 has some few censorship, but there is also an uncensored version (RAW) on the Nya Torrents.

Well, since that morning there is also that uncensored file available. It’s just a matter of using that RAW instead of the censored one. – Also, probably in less than 90 days we will have the DVD version with any cuts at all (just like what happened with Kanokon).

If you drop this, does that mean you would be able to put more people on Chaos;Head? Or do the people subbing the two shows have nothing to do with each other?
Because I don’t like this show at all, and anything to help get more people and time put into Chaos;Head for a possibly earlier release (ep2 has been out for a few days now) would be AMAZING to me.
So, if that is the case, I really do hope this show DOES remain censored. Because Chaos;Head is so much more interesting.
Plus, this group is the ONLY good group subbing Chaos;Head right now.

I noticed that they Tokyo MX only censored the full in your face panty shots that takes up half the screen which were shown about 3 times in the 3rd episode. Other than that the normal panty shots which were censored in TV Osaka’s version were not in Tokyo MX’s so I think there’s only censorship with the types mentioned above. (I did some comparisons b/w the 2 raws)

Thanks for doing the sub for this anime, but there isn’t really a point to keep doing this show if it’s censored. That’s the main reason why everyone watches it. I rather wait for the dvds to come out than watch the damn bat taking over the screen.

Rosari Vampire thingy is just pointless to watch if it doesn’t give the fansubbers “pleasure to sub” or overall give the general fans any fun watching the item. Nana Mizuki’s music rocks, but without echiness, a good op or ed can prove to be irrelevant in a shytie show. I also really like Rosario + Vampire (as I liked To Love-Ru and Kanokon), but censorship is something that really sucks.
I just can’t understand the reason for the censorship… I mean, Kanokon had tons of more sexual stuff and had no censorship at all (besides the nipples stuff). 😛
Oh well, at least we still can wait the DVD version, right?

If you like uncensored version, l33t-raws gives them to you. Episodes 1-2 are out and there is no bat covering the ecchines. Go to their website l33t-raws.org and download torrents from there.

I see that many people are commenting about how certain groups releasing raws have uncensored versions. I would like to remind people that we do not just take any kind of raw and apply subs to that.
Our encoder uses a so called Transport Stream, that is to say a raw HD signal from the digital broadcast. That way we can be sure that no one has touched the source and that its not compressed when we get it.
Also, some of you are to hung up on the different groups that releases these raws. It is not like the group in it self did the anime. They must get it from some kind of source, and that is the broadcasting company. If you want to compare sources, please refer to the broadcasting company instead of the raw provider.
If you have read this far i hope that you have a little more insight in how we handle the fansubbing procedures. And for those who already knew, I am sorry I wasted your time 😉
As for me, I pretty much like the show but if we cant get a good source (the ones with lots of pantsu :3) it would be better to wait for release on DVD. So you can rest assure that if you see further capu2 episodes with our name on it, it will be uncensored.

Oddly enough, I could get Episode 1 to run on VLC, but not episode 2. The ‘click me’ link provided, from what I understood, said that it would run, just not include the OP / ED, but it completely wouldn’t. Just stood there blankly.
Thoughts/suggestions? I really dislike codec packs, and I’d rather not deal with Haali/ffdshow etc.

Also after watching the Raws of ep 3… the “censorship” is not horrible, not nearly as bad as all of the other ones out there, near as i could tell there was only 4 shots “censored” and about 15-20 other ecchi shots that weren’t, so… it should be ok until the DVD release ya?

Thank for the “on hold” for uncensored DVD releases, I can always wait as long as it don’t takes years.
Just to note one things, by dropping one shows does not necessary increase the speed for the others shows! This is because the translation & editing are usually done by one single person to ensure accuracy and consistency. Unless both shows are done by the same translator/editor, by dropping one does not increase the speed of the other (speedsub don’t do editing/check before timing/encoding, that why their speed always fast and so are their amazing grammar, haha).
Another reason for most quality groups for having slight delay in their release compare to speedsub is that they believe in “either quality or don’t do it at all” ideology, that why they usually wait for the best quality raws to release which usually took 1 or 2 days later before rolling into actions.
As for chaos;heads, it’s already mentioned the delay is due to the typesetting, typesetting is the hardest jobs of all because it require technical skill and lost of time (can only be done by one person for 1 shows), especially if you are doing special effects like inserting the text into place or text boxs that are moving in the scenes. You will never see such things in chihiro release, not even the plainest karaoke effects are added in their releases.
If you really can’t wait for that few days more, go watch chihiro release instead, since they always being proud for their amazing speed over their quality.

What OS are you on? Because I don’t really see the reason as to use VLC if you are running Windows.
If you are running MacOS however there is a comparison you might find this link helpful.
And codec packs are here to help you from actually having to manually set up everything. So you wont have to deal with Haali/ffdshow etc.

I asked BigGuy b4 about ordered chapters (when Kure-nai was still showing) so that it might decrease file size & he said that he had experienced it not working after a wk & that it was unreliable. Has something changed w/ ordered chapters now compared to that time? If the point of using ordered chapters is to keep the file size low while still maintaining quality, then why are they over 300mb?

It is true media players that does not utilize external codecs are known to have problems playing ordered chapters, even though it is a MKV standard. But with the right codecs you should have no problem playing files with ordered chapters.
You also touch the question as to why the files are so large even with the opening and ending cut out. With a little reverse psychology you would probably come to realize the answer.

I’m running Windows at home, but the thing is,I don’t always watch things on the same system. I switch between linux variations and Macs and Windows working on different computers, so I watch things when I have a bit of spare time at work, on a usb drive. VLC is easiest to use without trying to mess with stuff time and again. That and I don’t like to leave remnants of programs behind. Plus, I just kind of like VLC; it’s simple, and I can be lazy and not think about it.

Sure I can understand the thought pattern, I myself prefer those programs if they work as well as you expect them to. In this case VLC in windows does not, maybe you should try updating it. If you really want to use VLC its fine, though I can’t say that I personally have any good experience from using it.
I would still at the end of the day recommend using a player that can handle external codecs, together with a good codec pack, if you want to save some time.
For instance, MPC-HC can run entirely on internal codecs (and it does pretty well at that.) But if you want, you can set it to prefer using any external codecs you care to use. Much better in my opinion (I currently set it to use CoreAVC, Haali and VSfilter as the only external codecs.)

To say the least if naruto was censored after being uncensored i wouldent watch it id wait for uncut version to come out. And this show is bassed on ecchi, not that i really care to see there pantie but with that bat in the way it just ruins the show and then having the fact to watch the hole show over again just to see what i missed is abit much. So having that said drop the show plz,if its not in its rawest form there no reason to sub it then do it again it would be a waste of time.
