The Earl guy is standing off as less of a playboy and is acting serious about his feelings, while Lydia is conflicted on his love and if she has love for him. I'm still wondering if the last "banshee tear drop" has some death awaiting curse coming as the Earl said some "pretty" deep stuffs, not spoiling what it was.
