Sorry again for the lateness. There were problems with the transport stream that we were supposed to be getting for this show, so we used the same raw source in episodes 1 and 2.
BTW, some of our staff will be having final exams coming up the next couple of weeks. This will unfortunately slow down our release schedule. This weekend, our encoder will be gone for the entire weekend, so we will try to get Itazura 05 out by Friday before he leaves. If not, it’ll have to wait until Sunday night when he gets back.

We’ve changed to a different raw provider for this episode. We hope it looks better for all those complaining about the excessive filtering used for the previous encodes. Also, some of our members were having exams, and we needed a re-encode to get the timing right on the typesetting. That’s the drawback of having all these fancy stuff. It honestly does add unavoidable delays since there’s more that can go wrong so more checking is needed.

Did we release a day later this week? Well, I can’t really tell. Either way, we waited an extra day to get the official lyrics for the OP song. And we needed a bit of extra time for the massive amount of TS work as well. As for the OP song, we seriously cannot understand the Engrish sung. We got practically none of it right on our first guesses. Their inability to pronounce the English ‘r’ makes ‘growing’ sound like ‘glowing’ no matter how you hear it. Need to learn to roll that ‘r’ more, Miss Hikari.
Anyway, from the above, you can deduce that the OP and ED themes are out for Special A. You can get them from #Nipponsei, our favourite source for anisongs. The OP is sung by Hikari, and the backup singers are Akira and Megumi(can’t believe they hired a voice actress for someone who doesn’t even talk). The ED is sung by the 4 S.A. guys, Kei, Tadashi, Ryuu and Jun.

I hope you all enjoyed my extremely biased Spring 2008 anime preview. My ratings were based solely on my enjoyment of the first episode of the shows. Thus, obscenely bad shows like Kanokon scored higher than a show with great production values like Kurenai for me. I’ll probably continue watching most of the series I rated in green, and drop the orange ones except for Kurenai. Shows with good plots and a strong storyline can improve as the series develops, and have a more lasting value. Thus Kurenai could easily grow to an ‘excellent’ by the end of the series. And on the other hand, shows with weak plots can quickly lose value if it becomes too repetitious. But, anyway, can’t really judge too much from one episode.
The line-up this season seems very strong. There are so many good shows that I just don’t know what to watch. So many shows I didn’t include in the preview. What are you guys looking forward to?
Moving on, we’re proud to release our fansub for episode one of Special A. It’s a story about Hanazono Hikari, who can’t for the life of her, ever beat Takishima Kei in anything. Kei has long had a crush on Hikari, but she’s simply too thick to realise that. Incidentally, they’re in the “Special A” class, which is the cream of the crop class of the best seven students on campus. They often lounge in the greenhouse and drink tea all day long.
