We had a little trouble with our FTP today, otherwise it would have been out earlier. Here’s a quick and dirty update on the other stuff since I have to go to sleep soon.

Ran 19 - We had an issue with the raw for this one, which was only resolved recently. Luckily this one is a standalone episode that isn’t related to the series, so it isn’t as critical. It’s a lot farther behind than episode 20 unfortunately. If we can get it done quickly, we might just dual release with 20.

Ran 20 - This one is at QC stage. I’m hoping it’s released within the next day or two.

Ran 21 - Got the raw recently and it will probably be translated tomorrow.

Fairy 06 - Translation checker was busy this weekend, but he got it done yesterday. It should be edited tomorrow.

Rosario 06 - Translation check. Ayako staff has been busy recently.

Rosario 07 - Translation.

Seto 20 - Haven’t had any time to work on it. This upcoming week and a half before Thanksgiving is gonna be brutal for me in terms of school work and exams. Not really high on the priority list ATM. Script is still at about 2/3 done.

Seto OVA - Same thing with Seto 20. Script is about 1/3 done.

One Outs - We’re evaluating our options on this project. We might end up dropping it if we can’t find the right solution. We’ll try to let you guys know soon. I looked over B2E’s latest releases and they’re not that bad, but their editing, particularly when it comes to baseball terms, is pretty bad. It’s understandable though, so don’t feel too bad if we drop it.

Negima OVA 02 - Raw came out recently. We’ll get to translating it shortly.

Shigofumi DVD

Just as we promised, here’s the full batch of the Shigofumi DVDs. So, what’s different in the DVD version? Firstly, some censorship was removed. Especially some scenes with guns. Secondly, the video quality is much higher.

And what have we changed in our scripts? We’ve made huge improvements to the scripts for the first four episodes. They should have a reasonably good level of translation accuracy now. All the episodes were also QCed for any glaring mistakes. I think we’ve made some good improvement over the course of the year in terms of quality. It’s too bad that we’re so much slower nowadays though. But, can’t have everything. Some of our members are quite busy, but they do set aside the necessary time to fansub.

The files are on average, about 250MB (total is 3.24GB), and in standard DVD resolution (of course). However, the videos have been pre-stretched to 16:9 already, so they’re not anamorphic. This was done to make it easier to migrate scripts without the need to resize everything. Our TV releases for Shigofumi was only 100MB per episode, so you can imagine how poor the TV broadcast quality was.

If you’ve not watched Shigofumi, you should. It’s good.

Chaos;Head - 05

I’m sorry for the massive delay on this episode. It was ready for encoding FIVE days ago, but the encoder’s internet died. He didn’t want that to delay the show, so he got a friend of his to encode it as back up, but his friend’s computer ended up dying this week as well. Our normal encoder got his internet back yesterday and finally uploaded it today. I don’t anticipate this kind of delay occurring for episode 06.

Earl and Fairy - 05

Not sure what else to say, except, it’s finally here. It’s starting to become quite a bad habit.

Episode 05 kinda starts a new arc. Something about the moon and such.

As for the other shows, Chaos;Head should be here shortly. It has actually been at the encode stage for the past 3 days. Talk about maximum fail. As for One Outs, I’m strongly considering dropping that as we clearly don’t have the manpower capable of handling so many projects.

Rosario + Vampire Capu2 - 05

Curry episode. Yeah, that’s it.

tun edit: Please don’t ask us to drop this show. Especially when your main reason is that “Chihiro is doing a good job.” If we thought that they were doing a good job, or hell, even an acceptable job, we would have dropped it a long time ago. There’s more that goes into a decision to drop a show than whether or not we like it or not. If you hadn’t noticed, this is a joint project, so Ayako’s feelings on the matter are important too. As of right now, the m.3.3.w portion of the joint (besides me) is encoding and typesetting, so they don’t have to put up with the show in the same way that me or the Ayako staff does. If we’re willing to put up with it, so will they.

Seto no Hanayome - 19

I haven’t forgotten about this show. I know in the initial post when I announced this project, I said that I wouldn’t let the project get held up because of typesetting. And guess what held it up for all this time; typesetting. It was sitting at about 50% done, so I just told our typesetter to just give me what he had and I finished off the rest with some very basic stuff where it was necessary for the viewing of the episode. As for episode 20, I’m about 2/3 done with the script, and I will give that to asagao so he can check it with the Japanese script.

Eventually I want to do the DVD version for the entire show, so I think we’ll do episode 20 and on using DVD source.

As for our other stuff, life has been kinda hectic some of us, so we haven’t had much time to devote to fansubbing. The next release will be Ran 18, followed by Chaos;Head 05 or Rosario 05. Fairy is a little further behind, and One Outs has been kinda sitting there since asagao has his midterms right now. That’s all for tonight.

Nogizaka Haruka R2J DVD 01-04

Hello all,

here’s Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu R2J DVDs, Episodes 01-04. (EP 03-04 are new, the others are re-uploaded. There’s no difference in the files, so if you already have them no need to re-download, some people had problems with the old torrent, so I re-uploaded to my tracker.
It uses Ordered Chapters so keep the files in one folder to be able to see the OP/ED.

Newer versions of mplayer should also support ordered chapters, VLC doesn’t, blame the programmers for not implementing real playback (like Full MKV support and .ass support).

When running windows try: MPC-HC in combination with Haali Splitter. Everything should work fine.

Earl and Fairy - 04

Today is an important day in history. I hope those of you who can vote have done so already.

Anyway, here is Earl and Fairy 04. Most of the delay was because we didn’t get the transport stream for this show until a few days ago. We don’t anticipate the same problem for next week though. We’ll update you guys if it happens again.
