Hi guys. Wanna venture a guess as to why we’ve delayed Munto this week? We’ve actually had the episode ready for several days, but it never got released… Believe it or not, because they didn’t know what to write for the blog post. I was actually waiting to see how long they’ll go without releasing without the blessing of my blog post, but I think they finally realised that it wasn’t released yet today. I wonder what kinda excuse we’ll come up with next.
Incidents like these have really sapped the motivation of our translator, who’s usually extremely fast. But he’s slowed down to a crawl now to match the speed of the others.
More often than not, it’s not that we’re working slow. We usually get things done pretty quickly, but somehow, through negligence or forgetfulness, or just simply bad management, our complete scripts – yes, complete – are simply left on the FTP doing nothing. I blame the economic recession, even though it’s completely unrelated to us. Just needed something to blame.

Anyway, on to the show. I really don’t think it’s that hard to look for something to say. Like for example, episode 09 will be the final episode of Munto. Yes, it’s only nine episodes. It’s a pretty poor show in my opinion. It had some nice storyline, but it just kinda dragged on with nothing much really happening. If I’m not mistaken, this is KyoAni’s only original IP, as in produced and written by KyoAni in-house. They should keep it that way. Enjoy.

Are you going to pick Konnichiwa Anne in april season or will be left without any sub for it subs again ?

Al of your sub choices have been really meh as of late. I would say Itazura Na Kiss was the last series from your group that I’ve enjoyed and have actually watched from beginning to end.
You guys need better scouting lol. Better still, Japanese animators need to learn how to tell a good story.

The ova s of 2003and2005 relate directly to this show in 3 episode blocks, according to anidb a movie is due for release in April, this could be a 3rd part ending of the ova set and you may find you have already translated it all so it may be an easier (quick) project for you

C’mon. You guys are m.3.3.w, the same group that everyone cried over when you decided not to stay with BakaWolf. The same group that has released some pretty damn high quality subs. I’m getting tired of that same group making excuse posts over stuff.
You guys can do this. Humans have step foot on the moon. Polio has been cured. A black guy, of all things, got into presidential office, when not even 50 years earlier was having a Catholic president the biggest upset of old Whitey.

The only reason the Munto series sucks is because KyoAni didn’t take the time to develop an anime that was really good in the beginning.
The fist two OAVs were amazing and had so much potential. All KyoAni wanted to do was make a quick buck and decided to slaughter their original brainchild.
Waste of time. If they were going to ruin the damn thing, they shouldn’t have touched it. Now there’s a movie. Oh God.

The parallel world setting was nice, the characters have great designs and are memorable. There could have been so much more they could run with on this series.

Further to my previous post, why are you thinking the movie will be eps 10-13, the anidb entry for it ends with “The film is a director’s cut of the climactic scenes with new footage.” this points to a re-hash of eps 6-9 as they were never released and would bring the ova set to a similar conclusion to the TV set.
As you have stated, this anime company only has Munto as their sole in house creation – is it not good marketing to make 2 existing ova into a short series and then use the series (after it re-ignites viewer interest) to finish the ova (2 complete releases for slightly more than the cost of 1)
Sorry to be so cynical but it will have taken them near 7 years to tell their story, they will probably want maximum income from it

The producers seem better at ova cuts so checking what they release would probably be best, I hope you haven’t forgotten ep 9 (like last week) you guys are in a better position to comment on what this show is like since it finished airing on the 11th and you have seen it, until you release I like many will be waiting hopefully.
