Another interesting episode which feels so frustratingly short. Shin’ichiro seems to be failing to get the hints from all the girls. Unfortunately, those hints are not as obvious as m.3.3.w hints.
On a side note, we still have a vacancy for a Translation Checker. The job is pretty simple. Watch the episode, spot mistakes and teach me. We are aware that we make a mistake or two every episode. Unfortunately, it’s often unavoidable because we lack the manpower in key areas like this. Also, it’s a bit of a challenge to find a really good TLC because someone who speaks Japanese as their primary language would probably never watch fansubs in the first place.
And, fair warning to those groups who use our script to translate into other languages: please note that our translations are often not very literal and can sometimes appear very far from the original Japanese sentence. This is a conscious decision and not ignorance(almost all the time at least). An example is, you might wonder why we go with, “…you were not there for me.” instead of, “…you abandoned me.” Now, the opposite of “abandoning a person” is “to be there for someone”, right? Flip that again, and it becomes clear. It may seem like strange logic, but I often don’t target individual words, just the emotion of what they’re trying to convey. Often, additional words are also tacked on for clearer meaning.
But, with that being said, if you have any Japanese friends, or someone with JLPT 1 with plenty of free time, we could use some help. Pointing out mistakes from past episodes however, isn’t very helpful to us. Unless maybe you supplement them with lessons to help me learn. Well, 2-3 mistakes in a 300 line script is 99% accuracy, but the passing grade in fansubbing is 100%. We need your help for that.
Whatever it is though, we’re very confident that the subs aren’t made up rubbish, and it’s really what they’re trying to say(99% of the time), so don’t get frightened away. Just that sometimes people over-dramatise a mistake here and there.

Another Nice Episode of True Tears…
I have a theory of the relationship between Shinichiro an Hirmi. Could it be, that the both of them are half siblings wiht the same father?? The face of Hiromies Mum is allways cutted in the old photographs and Shinichiro’s Mum is not very kind to Hiromi and avoids a closer contact beetwen them…

I have another theory… It could have been that Shinichiro’s mother really liked Hiromi’s father… It sort of KGNE thing and it turned out that Hiromi’s mother won Hiromi’s father and Shinichiro’s mom had no choice but to go to Shinichiro’s father when she was heartbroken and Shinichiro’s father was best friends with Hiromi’s father and was grateful he got Shinichiro’s mother…
Sorry for all the “possesiveness”… It’s better than confusing with a lot of her’s and his’s… XD… therefore Shin’s mother doesn’t want her son to be in love with the daughter of the woman who stole her loved one away… XD yes yes?

I hope the encoder hooks out any problems so the next release will be just as good as how it was released by M33W before…

Actually I support your theory of half siblings. Its quite logical, and explains why Shin’s mum hates Hiromi so much. Now the thing here seems to be that Hiromi herself is quite aware of this.

Well, its my believe that they could be half-siblings being the reason why Hiromi feels so awkward around Shin and feels the need to confuse him.
She’s definitely scared of crazy lady getting on her case or probably even chasing her out of the house. But it definitely didn’t seem to make her want Shin any less.
Personally I say give it another episode or 2 and we’ll probably be able to form more concrete theories.

Yeah, I saw the bugs with the h264 version of episode 5 as well. More specifically, around 1.26, 6.24 and 23.29 of the video. Haha, though it’s just several small glitches, it would be nice if someone released a so called version 2 of this ep.
