With True Tears approaching the midway point, the drama begins to unfold. Was the mistake Aiko made in choosing Miyokichi unrepairable? Noe still doesn’t seem able to understand her feelings towards Shin’ichiro. As Jun makes his advance on Hiromi, the tension between her and Shin’ichiro comes to a boiling point. She reveals to him a secret. A secret that we all perhaps may have been fearing all along, and hoped wouldn’t be true. Which girl will be the winner in the end?

Number 4: “it’s agonising to no longer to be able to like the things you like.”
Me thinks he’s implying that he has feelings for Noe, but knows that he shouldn’t have those feelings.
At the end of the date hiromi was about to tell #4 that she had no feelings towards him, he caught this and blurted out his deal with shin, shocking hiromi, she confessed to shin what his mom told her to kinda get back at him for agreeing to that god awful deal in the first place.
I really think that shin and hiromi are not related at all and it’s just a ploy by the animators to confuse us. Shin’s mom is just a bitch. Cause if they were siblings I’d hope/think his dad would have told him already. Still rooting for shin/hiromi ending.

i don’t think that’s what #4 implied. if he had that kind of feeling towards noe, he’ll be reluctant to gave her sister to shin. maybe it’s something else and it’s all because of noe being a burden. imo anyway.
quite agree though with shin and hiromi being non-related, seeing how shin’s mother reacted being reminded about the conversation she and hiromi have a year prior. seriously, who could forget? if someone told me that i have a half brother and my mom’s a bitch, i’ll definitely remember.

It looks like your theory is taking… But I can’t believe if the animators are just confusing us with Shin Hiromi being half siblings or I may have just misunderstood the scene… I’m going to watch it all over again because I definitely want a ShinXHiromi ending!!! I just watched it again for like the 3rd time and I firmly believe that the HiromixShin ending is more likely… It’s just because if that confession turned out to be as true as everybody would like to believe then it would just kill off that part of the story right? I mean quoting what Hiromi said which was “probably”, this is not the 100% truth… It may also be just a plain conclusion run from the mill by Shin’s mother… Which leaves us all to have an expectation that Shin’s father holds the vital “key” information as to Hiromi’s true lineage… I’m betting by ep 8-10 that Shin’s father would spill out vital stuff which would stir things further especially if Noe would be already Shin’s gf by that time…

Also it could be that it was Shin’s father who was in love with Hiromi’s mother and that Shin’s mother is just a reflection of jealous best friend sort of thing… Which explains why Shin’s mother dislikes Hiromi so much and said that her mother is an easy girl… In short, prime antagonist = Shin’s mother… Man, my head is turning real bad… >. Noe’s tears when that vital info exposes/clears everything up leaving Shin in a difficult decision between Noe and Hiromi…
I love TRUE TEARS… It’s not your regular Harem anime… XD XD XD very vague plot… I like the “tear” theme… XD

totally agree with you.i started to doubt the sibling thingy myself. maybe it’s a made-up lie by shin’s mother who just pissed off at that time coz his husband took in hiromi, sort of proved that he love hiromi’s mother still. imo.

Yeah, plus I think I’m getting this TRUE TEARS title… I think it would either be Hiromi’s or Noe’s tears… Either way Shin would be the center piece and someone will be crying because of him… Well, maybe all of them will cry because of Shin… talk about major IMO, I hope this doesn’t go overboard… Overboard IMO sucks bigtime…
Shin’s mother doesn’t show enough “bitchiness” for us to conclude that she really is mad at Hiromi for being an “outside” daughter but she is mad(if not jealous) of Hiromi’s mother…

I personally think #4 knows hiromi digs shin, and that’s why he told her about Noe and shin. The smile on his face when he saw her impression was priceless, This storyline is great and keeps me guessing about what will be revealed next . . . even if it involves brother/sister love.

I think what Hiromi said was just said out of spite. I think she just wanted Shin to give up on her so she said the worst thing that she could think of. I don’t think she was telling the truth.
We’ll see how it plays out though.

This show is utterly orgasmic.
I think it’s going to turn out as Hiromi not being his half-sister..either his dad like goes: ‘I never did it’ or Shin’s mum feels guilty and checks it out.
It’ll probably end with Hiromi & Shin, while Shin like breaks up with Noe or something and she ‘cries’ again. Just an assumption.. this series is so good!

Good theory Tidus about the whole Shin x Hiromi there is something behind the mom thing but I’m not thinking that there siblings I think she just said that. In the end she sez that shes a horrible person. Maybe she just said that to make shin not go after her because of shins mom. Guess well have to wait till end

Yeah… that’s also my prediction… It will be Noe’s tears once the sibling thing clears up and Shin goes straight back to Hiromi in a one heartwracking/IMO scene where Noe would cry as she would also admit during that scene that she finally knew what love is and her tears came back…
XD Remember that Noe really loved her grandma so much … so i think love will be the center piece for her to get her tears back… Her love for Shin who in turn realize he loved Hiromi who loves him back and was just hindered by what Shin’s mom said to her without any concrete evidence… XD

Currently I am very angry that episodes feel like they are 2 minutes long I am always left wanting so much more. This one was amazing as usual. The fact that we get to find out fully why shin’s mom is so hateful and that she would tell shin. Noe is absolutely adorable like always. Her brother bothers me something about him seems off. I just hope they give it a good ending and dont have one like myself yourself. Myself Yourself was the most amazing show till the final episode.

I want to thank all the fansub groups that are handling this series, and other ones, making it accessible to those of us who don’t speak/understand japanese.
And as we are not paying for the service, we (the beneficiaries) of the subbed episodes should be grateful to the groups, and definitely should not be too critical of what is provided. Meaning, it isn’t appropriate for us to complain if something is not to our liking – I am sure that most fansub groups encounter plenty of unreasonable complaints, and for that I am sorry.
All that being said, however, I must say that there are times when a complaint is warranted, and fansub groups should have the decency to recognize a valid complaint and not over react when one is made. In today’s world of open source information and free trade of ideas, it is regressive thinking to be too sensitive to other people valid criticisms.
I watched two versions of ep.6 of true tears – the first one being on veoh, which was subbed quite well. I later downloaded a subbed version from m303, which was a shock for me. While some editorial inserts were rather funny and appreciated, there was a moment when number 4 says: it is agonizing to no longer like the things that you like, which I felt was probably the best quote of the episode. However, in the m30w version, it’s replaced with “look at the faggot earring on my left ear”.
My ONLY request is that (to the members of m30w) is to please at least sub the actual dialog so that the esssence of the meaning is not lost upon those who do not speak the language. Having editorial inserts is fine, but as long as what is being said is addressed as well.
I hope that most people here will agree that it is a reasonable request, and I also hope that this post of mine will not generate a backlash of negative/offensive comments…
Once again, thanks to all the fansub groups. You guys are doing great!
