Happy independence day to all our American fans. How did you guys spend the day? Well, I sure didn’t do anything as it isn’t independence day here, hohoho.
Anyways, I guess some people have been clamouring for updates and such. The status of projects, etc. Well, it is kinda odd that we’ve slowed down so much in the past month. We normally release within about 3 days in the past, but now it’s getting closer to 6. We used to try to push stuff out quickly last time, racing against an invisible clock. However, it’s far more relaxed now. With the majority of the staff having summer vacation, the holiday mood has kinda set in. (And they’re actually more busy now than they normal, strangely)
Special A has been a bit slow. Well, if you didn’t already know, our translation checker for S-A, Fighter747, suffered quite a traumatic event recently. He was caught in an attempted heist and held at gunpoint. Not surprisingly, he isn’t in the mood to do fansubbing. We’ve transferred responsibilities to asagao recently, but his priority is Itazura na Kiss which he’ll put ahead of S-A. Also, the fact that he’s currently running on dial-up doesn’t help either.
Either way, for me personally, I’ve still been putting out scripts at my regular pace. However, the checking is an important step, and the typesetting too since people love that for some reason. If we skipped that every episode, the quality of the translations and accuracy will take a nosedive. So, please bear with us. Thanks for reading.

Taking the first comment (which is apparently a big deal). I spent my 4th at an anime con, which I’m not sure is better than blowing things up, but oh well.
Does anyone else think it’s wrong for Independence Day not to be on 1 or more channels on the 4th?
And m33w, your subs are among the best ones out there. There’s nothing wrong with having delays to ensure quality, especially when providing a free service.

Well, if we’re going to talk about what we did this 4th of July… I checked translations. Woohoo. I guess that, even though it’s a holiday, since I’m in my summer vacation anyways, it doesn’t really feel like a day off… and FANSUBBERS NEVER REST RAWR!! 😉
I actually hadn’t heard about Fighter747’s incident until this post, despite supposedly being part of the staff here — hope you’re doing okay, Fighter…

most of us should and i do prefer quality to speed, so don’t get troubled by a bit of slowing down, as long as you keep the quality, i’m really grateful to you no matter whether you need 3 or 6 or more days

Deathagent: July 1st is Canada Day, as well as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day. It wouldn’t be very suitable to have 3 different national holidays on the same day, especially if the whole of North America just goes on holiday! The economy would skydive! Then so would the rest of the world’s economy, especially Hong Kong and China, as their currencies are pegged to the US Dollar.

For those who don’t know, Hong Kong SAR Establishment Day is the day that Hong Kong was returned to Chinese Rule from British Rule (also called “The Handover”).

Hey, no problems. Take your time. I know it takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to check the quality of the video/translation. In japanese class I had to translate a video while playing because I was the teacher assistant and I know its difficult, especially if there are many ways to translate the phrase. So, its all good. I hope Fighter747 is feeling better and also no pressure to the rest of the m33w fansub staff.
Thanks a lot for the episode releases though, you guys are awesome. 😀

Hopefully Fighter747 will be fine. He definitely needs time to heal from the trauma. If it were me, I think I’ll faint and completely shaken for God knows how long.
