Hi guise, here are some references that you might not get (not going to post obvious ones),
- The guide by Nobunaga is an imitation of the guide being seen by Amuro Ray while entering the cockpit of his Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam.
- When they were lining up for buying the doujin, Yuuto asked Haruka why she wanted to buy the doujin from A Cat Bus Stop, Haruka replied because she liked the artist. In fact, the artist is the one who drew Haruka. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaa -> click on his personal website… and mind = blown )
- The person who Nanami dressed up as was actually Taro Aso , he is a famous politician, also is known to be a manga fan. He was seen reading Rozen Maiden at the airport, thus earning his nickname ‘Rozen Aso’.
- The day this episode aired was actually the start of the real C74 in Tokyo.

Hey guys, did you unlearn encoding technique? You usedd to do the encodes with the same quality and smaller files, but now, what happened? I’m not really complaining or anything, but your great encodes were by far the main reason for me to choose you guys, and I’m sure I’m not the only one… by the way, keep up the good work at everything else. 😉

Kusanagi, we need the larger file size for Nogizaka because of a better raw source. The file sizes are bigger, but the picture quality is much better. It’s definitely not the same as in episodes 1-4.

tun, Nogizaka episode 5 have size 200MB, but episode 6 have size ~233MB. Does this mean that quality of episode 6 is better than episode 5?

maybe. sometimes it’s just because there is more movement and colours, so more space is needed.

With ep.5, there wasn’t enough bitrate to encode the sharpness which resulted in artifacts around edges.
Maybe the encoder decided to increase the bitrate instead of reduce the sharpness.

@Anon, that was exactly it. + this episode needed an overall more bitrate. So we’re gonna stick to 233MB.
@Kusanagi, in case you didn’t notice the picture quality went up a whole lot. The source has lots more details so we want to preserve those. Thus needs more bitrate. Otherwise you would get blocking party instead of an encode. Itazura na Kiss also has TS file now, so not sure if we can keep the 140MB filesize, we’ll see when it’s released. It might get to 170MB. Every anime is different in compression. And every episode is different.
