As most of you probably know by now, m33w has left the Baka-Wolf network. You might be worried about the availability of DDLs of our releases now. However, I was informed by one of the Baka-Wolf admins that they will continue to support us by providing DDLs there.
This post here will explain all you need to know about why we left. We do not hate Baka-Wolf for this, but at the same time we cannot endorse what had been done.
As for my personal input, I do believe that it’d be best for everyone if Silence stepped down as the head administrator of Baka-Wolf, which he has. The new interim, or perhaps permanent, head admin is Versude. The reason why I think so isn’t because I question Silence’s ability as a leader, but it is that he has more important things in life to take care of instead of Baka-Wolf which is meant to be a non-profit venture. Please don’t rely on us for help, but rely on the ones closer to you. No matter how you see it, I am but another faceless person behind the anonymity of the internet living 10,000 miles away. I cannot provide you a steady job for income. But, I do wish you the best of luck, Silence. Thanks for all the help you have given me and m33w.

Anyways what Silence did for whatever reason is inexcusable, he knew well what the donations were for (and reminded people to donate to keep the service running) and yet he willing fully took some money from the donations it doesn’t matter if it was for his family, his actions contradicted his words and is unjustifiable to his situation.

that’s why i dont understand why people are still supporting him. tazmo over at narutofan took donation money for himself (doesnt matter for what reason) and people are still cursing his name. just because silence told a pitty story people are saying it’s fine that he took the money? are people really that stupid on the internet? if the guy doesnt have money to feed his family then he needs to gtfo the internet and it looks to me that people are ass kissing him because they want bakawolf to stay. idiots.

For Kaori: I myself wouldn’t have had any problems with what Silence did. Only thing that bothered us was that he didn’t ask that in the first place. I still shouldn’t care what some random leecher says anyways.
As for that personal job away from the internet. Try getting the kids to a daycare-center these days with fully trusting them. Pedos, abusers etc. all the community-scum gathered to a place where there is children. You don’t have them? You don’t care? Figures. I said what I said and that’s it.
and I friggin seriously hate the drama.

I understand what and why it happend, but I’m not going to agree or disagree with it. That it has happend is bad enough and he is sorry, isn’t he? I’m not saying that is a reason to forget and forgive, but I think it can be a reason to leave it in the past. On the other hand, I think m.3.3.w made a good decision by leaving.

Now that you mention it, it IS a lot like Scooby Doo! Well, sans the cheesiness of the 60’s… I like this anime more for the fact that it’s like Pokémon – a new adventure everyday!
But… Pokémon sucks now.

Ahem! Hanazono, You do realize that if he is arrested for embezzling funds, the authorities may also investigate various fansubbing communities. Were talking an avalanche of events here. Fansubs are not really legal you know.

Hahaha, yeah they are. ^^ Copyright law being what it is, the only people involved with questionable legality are whoever in Japan is doing the ripping to bring us the laws. Downloading and subbing the raws, and watching the subs, are completely legal outside of Japan, or anywhere else the series are licensed at the time. Knowledge of the law is your friend, when it brings you free anime. <3

If it’s not licensed in the area you mean. It is illegal because subbing and releasing it constitutes an act of tampering with and ditributing copyrighted material.
If the company that holds the copyright has no legal basis in your country or that of the fansub team then you won’t be held liable unless it is a major issue, but even then if you are in the US or the EU then they each have laws to address such issues.
Bottom line: It is illegal, but there are loopholes.

i think everyone in the forum was being a little mean and harsh to SILENCE…. but i also agree he should find a good paaying job, but i don’t think him stepping down is thhe rite step! i mean yeah sure he made a mistake but hes been an excellent leader all this time n i think we should support him just a little bit more!

I thought that releases wouldn’t be affected by the breakaway, but what happened to Itazura na Kiss ep 17? I don’t give a crap about SA (nothing good or interesting about it anyway) just as long as Itakiss isn’t messed with. Don’t mean to bug, but isn’t it normally released by Monday? Was a translator or timer affected by the drama?

Just want to firstly say, thank you for all your wonderful subbing! It’s really great and time consuming(I know), but it’s very much appreciated.
Secondly, to just delve slightly into the fiasco at BW, I don’t know any of the people there. The fact that something like this happened does not surprise me. It happens. That’s life. People are cheated, steal and feel that they are justified. Whatever, it’s in the past.
What does annoy me is the fact that all these people commented after Silence saying that there was nothing wrong with what he did and that they would do the same thing. Really??
If we are saying it’s okay to take someone’s hard earned money that was DONATED to help the site and use it for yourself, what else are we going to allow slide? A man robs a bank, but his little girl is dying and needs money for a heart transplant. Will this man get off on a non-guilty plea with that story??
If a man kills someone because he was going to be killed himself if he didn’t and has a rough life, should he not go to jail?? If we start allowing little things to roll off our shoulders because we are sentimental or emotional, the world we live in is going to turn into a hard place to live.
Please think about the entire consequences of a person’s actions. Silence was right in denouncing his position and explaining his incentives, but honestly, the incentives shouldn’t matter.
A crime is a crime, no matter what the pretenses are. Go work a 9-5 job, even if the pays not great instead of spending 16 hours on here a day for a measly 150. I own a site. I also work two jobs to support a family. I hold no sympathy.
Sorry, I work for lawyers and kind of lost myself. I apologize for being so vocal. Thank you for your kind attention. *bows respectfully*
