In this episode, Fumika and Chiaki team up to deliver their Shigofumis to the same recipient. A lot is revealed about Fumika’s past and present in this episode as Kaname(Detective Nojima’s son) investigates deeper. I was also quite surprised after finding out who Mikawa Kirameki was. It’s all quite disturbing.

With Takuma running out of time, this episode reveals much about Hayami’s past and why the people of the village hate their family so.
Also, there was an encoding glitch in the h264 version of the previous episode of the ‘show that cannot be named’. We apologise for that, but since the episode is still playable, there will be no v2.
Next, I believe I should mention this again. To be able to properly play the h264 releases in sync, you’ll need CoreAVC and not the FFDshow decoder packaged in CCCP. To properly play the HE-AAC audio, you’ll need to use the FFDshow audio decoder. Without that, the audio will really sound like 22k audio and that’s really bad. CoreAVC is packaged inside the k-lite codec pack. If you want to keep CCCP, then CoreAVC may be downloaded separately. If this doesn’t solve your playback problems, then please download the XviD version instead. That’s hassle free and plays on almost anything.
Lastly, I would like to kindly request viewers to not have unrealistic expectations in terms of audio and video quality of the releases. These shows come from free TV stations. (at least I believe they are free) Furthermore, the quality is limited by the recording equipment and encoding skill of the raw capper. What you see and hear in the h264 releases are very close to what you get in the raws. The video quality isn’t cinema quality and the audio is not Dolby Surround or THX. It’s TV quality(for the weekly shows).

Tomorrow marks the first day in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, opening the year of the rat. Hopefully, we won’t see any [S.Q.U.3.3.K]s. We apologise for the lateness of Rosario Vampire because half the crew working on that project also celebrate the Lunar New Year. It’s definitely a busy time of the year with lots of relatives around. And with almost a quarter of the people in the world being Chinese, it is a rather major celebration.
The Chinese Lunar Calendar is divided into twelve 28 day months. With every third year having a leap month (a 13th month) to normalise the solar cycle. To all those out there celebrating, we at m.3.3.w & Baka-Wolf wish you another prosperous year.

Another interesting episode which feels so frustratingly short. Shin’ichiro seems to be failing to get the hints from all the girls. Unfortunately, those hints are not as obvious as m.3.3.w hints.
On a side note, we still have a vacancy for a Translation Checker. The job is pretty simple. Watch the episode, spot mistakes and teach me. We are aware that we make a mistake or two every episode. Unfortunately, it’s often unavoidable because we lack the manpower in key areas like this. Also, it’s a bit of a challenge to find a really good TLC because someone who speaks Japanese as their primary language would probably never watch fansubs in the first place.
And, fair warning to those groups who use our script to translate into other languages: please note that our translations are often not very literal and can sometimes appear very far from the original Japanese sentence. This is a conscious decision and not ignorance(almost all the time at least). An example is, you might wonder why we go with, “…you were not there for me.” instead of, “…you abandoned me.” Now, the opposite of “abandoning a person” is “to be there for someone”, right? Flip that again, and it becomes clear. It may seem like strange logic, but I often don’t target individual words, just the emotion of what they’re trying to convey. Often, additional words are also tacked on for clearer meaning.
But, with that being said, if you have any Japanese friends, or someone with JLPT 1 with plenty of free time, we could use some help. Pointing out mistakes from past episodes however, isn’t very helpful to us. Unless maybe you supplement them with lessons to help me learn. Well, 2-3 mistakes in a 300 line script is 99% accuracy, but the passing grade in fansubbing is 100%. We need your help for that.
Whatever it is though, we’re very confident that the subs aren’t made up rubbish, and it’s really what they’re trying to say(99% of the time), so don’t get frightened away. Just that sometimes people over-dramatise a mistake here and there.
Oh, I’m just blogging about episode 04. What do you guys think about it? Actually, I don’t know what to talk about in this episode except it introduces the other postal worker Chiaki, and it’s about these lesbian chicks. Hawt!
Some corrections were pointed out to me for the H2O OP. So I corrected that, but unfortunately there just wasn’t enough time to apply the effects to the corrected version. So, it’s kinda being reverted to just the k-time. It’s a policy of ours not to delay a release for karaoke anyways. Hopefully, it’ll be ready by the next episode.
Also, I was presented with an ending karaoke from a person called ultimate_neet. Unfortunately, I thought the effects didn’t match the song well, so I could only use the k-time from it.
As for the application for typesetter, we managed to get that filled for the moment. For the TLC position however, actually, I’m only looking for someone who’s really good with Japanese. Someone with beginners knowledge would unfortunately not be very helpful to us. This is because it takes time to actually check the episode, and I need time to look through the reports. And our schedule is quite tight, so I prefer not to have any lost time sifting through reports for a real error. If you’d like to try anyways, please message Korokun on IRC.
